Vilatuña Falls

Located in the parish of  Rumipamba, El Vallecito Sector, 17 kilometres away from the city of Sangolquí, in the site called La Caldera. Its name recalls a traditional last name of local people and is associated with numerous legends and traditions.

For its access, as a reference point, the bridge of concrete of the sector, taking the path of the left side following the bank of the Pita River downstream. During the trip we can admire a sequence of waterfalls such as The Veil of the Bride, The Mangle of the Virgin, The Pailon of the Devil. Throughout the whole trip you will be able to be amazed and enjoy the lush vegetation. There you will find species of animals proper of the Andean moors, which will captivate your attention.

The journey takes approximately an hour and a half until you get to the path in which route, to give the tourist facility and security, the Municipal Government has implemented bridges that permit to cross the Pita River from one side to the other where you can watch the collapse of the cascade of Vilatuña and the great waterfalls of the Pita River.
